My decision to go to the International Realtime Court Reporting Institute was by far one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. The online classes were educational, challenging, motivating, and critical in preparing me for the state exam. When I took the test, only two of us were International Realtime Court Reporting Institute students and we both passed! I can’t say enough about the quality of the school and how their curriculum was right on track in preparing me for the exam as well as being out in the field. You’re the best! I am a former steno student who studied steno for over three years. Throughout my steno training, I heard a lot about voice writing but could not find the right program for me. Once I heard about International Realtime Court Reporting Institute, I knew I had found the right program to teach me voice writing. I started training at International Realtime in September of 2013 and passed my certification and became a Certified Verbatim Court Reporter five months later.

The program is set up to guide you every step of the way. Sarah and Colette are amazing and available to help you in any way they can. What I like most about the program is that I was able to work at my own pace. I am a go getter, and I needed a program that would allow me to work as fast as I needed or have the ability to slow down when needed. The feedback while attending International Realtime was awesome. I always knew how I was progressing along. When I first came to International Realtime, Sarah told me this program would allow me to reach my goal of becoming a court reporter, and she was right. As I approach my 50th birthday in just a few days, I am excited about my future career as a court reporter. It takes dedication and hard work, but I am so glad I came across International Realtime CRI and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new career in court reporting. –

I had previously taken an online course in a related field but failed to thrive, partly due to isolation and lack of support. Given that history, I was extremely hesitant to pivot to voice writing and attempt more online courses.
I was thrilled to find that the positive and engaging community at IRCRI was exactly what I needed! I loved the student portal, the course videos are well explained and straightforward, and the homework kept me engaged and moving forward.
Sarah’s weekly check-ins with me were SOO helpful and her bright demeanor is thoroughly contagious! I even had to bug her with a few phone calls when I got stuck, and she continued to offer positive vibes along with theory suggestions and alternatives, all the while reiterating her faith in my abilities.
After completing IRCRI and passing my national certification, I am now contracted with many agencies at wonderful rates I had hoped for! I completely love my new career, which IRCRI was instrumental in helping me realize.

I could not be where I am today without IRCRI! I am now a Certified Verbatim Reporter, and a certified court reporter. All thanks to the knowledge, help, and patience given to me by Sarah and Collette. The courses are easy to navigate, and if you ever have any questions, they are always there to get you through it. They were always very motivating, pushing their students to succeed! They give you all the tools necessary to do anything in the voice reporting field.
 

I cannot recommend IRCR’s program highly enough. As an older student (now CVR as of April 11, 2022), I sincerely appreciate the availability of the instructors to answer any questions and offer advice along the way. As a transcriber, I needed to switch to Dragon in order to preserve my body. I needed to increase my speed and I knew voice typing was the answer. I am very good at learning things on the fly, especially technology. I just couldn’t get my speed past 100 wpm on my own. It was easy to learn the basics of Dragon, but I plateaued far below where I was hoping to be with my speed.

And so I searched for a course specific to legal transcriptionists that did not require a CAT system. It was hard to find, but I finally found the fast track transcriber course through International Realtime Court Reporting Institute. I finished the course in a few months and earned my 180 wpm badge of honor. It wasn’t hard, but the professional teaching was exactly what I needed to succeed. The classes were laid out in an easy-to-use format and provided just the right balance of instruction and challenge. I highly recommend the course!

I truly hope more transcribers will cross over to voice typing. We don’t need a CAT system, but we sure can benefit from the available technology!

When I first enrolled with the International Realtime Court Reporting Institute, little did I know that I would be embarking on a journey of a lifetime.  I have worked in Quebec, Canada for the last five years as a court transcriber for some of the finest court reporters in our province.  I’ve encountered every case you could think of, each with its own story to tell.  But I quickly realized that I didn’t want to be the one transcribing anymore.  I wanted to hear it live.  I wanted to be that court reporter taking that deposition.  It wasn’t that simple and it took me nearly two years to finally be able to take equivalent courses that would be recognized by our court reporters association here in Quebec. I reached out to Sarah in February of 2016.  I told her my predicament.  I needed her help in getting me ready for the certification exam here in September of this year.  She put my mind at ease immediately.  She told me not to worry and  that I’ll be ready for it.  And she was right. I have had the best experience with both Sarah and Colette.  They are both so caring, so motivating, so positive, and two very special women.  I have learned so much from them and I will be forever grateful for that.  I got up early and went to bed late.  I worked hard, I practiced hard and I never gave up.  I took my last exam on July 15th and I know I will be ready for my certification in September.  Thank you Sarah and Colette!! I highly recommend this program to anyone looking to learn voice writing with Dragon. Sarah and Colette are natural instructors who want to help. And the coursework works! If you follow the lessons, you will learn the skill, pick up the speed, and be ready to work. I started from 0-225wpm in roughly a year, then passed my RCP-M certification. Great program.

After working my way through the Legal Transcription Fast Track course, I was ready to take the CLT exam for NVRA. I just opened my letter from them today and I passed!

Sarah was sooo patient with me, answering all my constant questions. This school really wants to see you accomplish your goals and will help you every step of the way.

I wholeheartedly recommend the International Realtime Court Reporting Institute program!  I will admit that it took me a little longer to finish the program.  I began the program in November 2017 and finished in December 2019.  While I was in school, my father passed away, and my husband and I purchased a new home.  If it wasn’t for the self-paced nature of IRCRI, I probably wouldn’t have been able to finish school due to these stressful periods of my life.
Colette and Sarah gave me the tools to produce transcripts, to build speed, and to confidently enter the workforce.  I literally began shadowing and working in court reporting before I finished school.  I also passed the CVR exam on my first try! 
IRCRI is definitely not an easy program!  I have never worked so hard in my life.  However, all of the work in the program has given me a real chance at being successful.

I started the program five months ago and just sat for my state’s CSR exam and am almost positive I passed it! I got through the program so quickly because I put in the work everyday and had Sarah and Colette as fantastic instructors/cheerleaders/counselors in getting me prepared for this career.  IR will provide you with all the tools you will need to become not just a court reporter, but a GREAT court reporter.
I started in steno as an older student and determined rather quickly that I wasn’t willing to spend three to five (or more) years trying to get to speed on the machine and started researching voice writing as an alternative. So thankful for the opportunity to have been in this school! With me being fresh out of high school when I started I would sometimes doubt myself if I could do this or not, but the instructors always kept me going and had faith in me! They are great to work with and very helpful to any situation you come across! I can’t wait to begin my career as a Court Reporter!

I decided I wanted to be a court reporter about three years ago.  I love the legal field but also wanted the opportunity to work for myself and run my own business.  I found that court reporting would allow me to do both.  I took the online court reporting class with Sarah and Colette and absolutely loved it! You can go at your own pace, take the classes at your convenience, and Sarah and Colette are always available to answer questions and provide feedback!  When I passed my certification and purchased Eclipse, signing up for their online Eclipse instructional class was a no brainer.  The class is structured so well, easy to follow along, and explains so much about Eclipse.  Just like the first class I took, you go at your own pace, take the classes at your convenience, and Sarah and Colette are right there with you every step of the way!  If you are interested in becoming a court reporter or thinking about purchasing Eclipse, this is the school/classes for you.  The investment is well worth it, and you will not be disappointed.  I am so excited I made the decision to learn from Sarah and Colette.  They are fabulous!!

This is a wonderful program. Sarah and Colette are so helpful and knowledgeable. I’ve been a reporter for 9 months and recently started using eclipse, it has made my life so much easier and cut down my transcript production time. I love this program so much that my daughter has recently started their school.
